Summer laziness had me a blast
I never thought it’d end so fast
I shall miss these days camping out on my couch
My life has changed because of House
Gone are the times of belting out California Gurls
And watching my friend get her hair curled
So much for my foodie free-for-all
My meals are so…scheduled when it’s fall
Goodbye to the life of leisure I knew
No more staying up ‘til half past two
Now I have to go back to school
And watch my unpopular friends become cool
I have to be on my best behavior
While I fight for my piano player
Alas, I suppose this is when
I bid farewell to the summer of 2010.
Let us all have a moment of silence. Say adieu to camping out in front of your computer in hopes of bamming the next Blogging Twilight, eating angel food cake and 6 Oreos for breakfast, and 19 hour marathons of 24. There will be no more of that for a WHOLE 'NOTHER YEAR. That being said (in our moment of silence, no less), I am going to share my goals for this coming school year with all of you! Maybe if I publicize them, I might actually have the incentive to keep them, or at least have the decency to feel guilty if I don't.
1. Do not sing/hum/vocalize-in-any-way my favorite songs when they are stuck in my head.
This will piss off everyone around me, insult the original artist, and not do anything to accomplish sticking them out of my head.
2. Use the planner.
This is, admittedly, the third year I have sworn to do this. And I'm sure (except in the case of an act of God) this will be the third year I ditch this particular plan.
3. Study for tests.
If I am headed for Stanford's medical school (which I certainly am...eventually), I need to develop good study habits NOW. Cramming 10 words of similar vocab once a week in passing period is not suitable practice for memorizing all 206 bones of the body!
and lastly:
4. ACQUIRING THE PIANO PLAYER.
I need one! I need that one! I want the one I had last year, and so what if he says no? I will MAKE him say yes! My plans include (so far): blackmail.
...It should work. Manipulation solves everything.
Hope y'all are doing well!
TTFN!
